Servicing and Maintenance
All brands, whoever installed them. Preventative servicing, fault diagnosis and repairs for homes and businesses across Geelong and the Bellarine.
- All brands serviced
- ARC accredited technicians
- Residential and commercial
- Reports, not just invoices
Keeping systems running, and fixing them when they stop
Servicing and maintenance is a separate division for a reason. It runs its own vehicles, its own parts stock and its own schedule, so a service booking does not sit behind an installation program.
It covers everything: reverse cycle splits, ducted systems, evaporative coolers, hydronic, heat pump hot water and commercial packaged units. Brand does not matter. If it heats or cools a building in this region, we work on it.
Annual preventative servicing
The one that stops the summer callout. Filters, coils, drains, electricals and operating performance checked before you need the system.
Fault diagnosis and repair
Something is not working and nobody has been able to tell you why. We measure rather than replace parts speculatively.
Refrigerant leak detection
Low gas means a leak. We find it and repair it rather than topping the system up and sending you an invoice each summer.
Maintenance agreements
Scheduled servicing for businesses, rental portfolios and owners corporations, with reporting and a known cost per site.
Warranty and compliance support
Warranty claims on equipment we installed go through a direct channel rather than a general call centre, and we keep the service records that most warranties assume exist.
What a proper service looks like
A service that takes fifteen minutes and produces an invoice is a filter clean. These are the things that actually prevent failures.
Measurements taken and recorded
Operating pressures, superheat and subcooling, supply and return temperatures, and current draw. Compared to what the unit should be doing, not eyeballed.
Coils actually cleaned
Outdoor coils in Geelong collect grass seed in summer and salt on the coast. A blocked coil raises head pressure, cuts capacity and shortens compressor life.
Drains tested with water
Not looked at. Blocked condensate drains are the most common cause of ceiling damage we get called to, and they are entirely preventable.
A written report
What was found, what was done, what needs watching and what will need replacing in the next year or two. So you can plan rather than react.
How a service or repair call runs
1. Book a time
Tell us the system type, the brand if you know it, and what it is doing. That decides which van and which parts come out.
2. Attend and diagnose
Technician attends, tests, and tells you what is wrong before doing anything chargeable beyond the service call.
3. Quote the repair
If parts are needed you get a price before we order. For rentals and businesses we work to your approval threshold.
4. Repair and report
Work completed, measurements recorded and a report issued. Recurring sites go onto a schedule so it does not get forgotten.
System not keeping up?
Ring us. Describe what it is doing and we will tell you whether it is a service, a repair or a replacement conversation.
What servicing and repairs cost
Standard business hours attendance within our service area.
Split system service
$180 to $280
Ducted system service
$250 to $420
Evaporative pre summer service
$180 to $320
Diagnostic call out
$150 to $250
Common repairs, parts and labour
$250 to $900
Maintenance agreement, per site
priced on schedule
Indicative only and current at the time of writing. Multiple systems at one address are cheaper per unit than a single visit. Servicing is not covered by the Victorian Energy Upgrades program, which applies to equipment upgrades rather than maintenance.
And when repair stops being worth it
Number of systems on site
The travel is the same whether we service one unit or four. Doing them in the same visit is materially cheaper per unit.
Access
Rooftop plant, ceiling access through a manhole in a wardrobe, or a unit boxed into a tight side path all add time.
Parts availability
Current model parts are usually next day. Discontinued equipment can mean a wait, and occasionally means the part no longer exists.
Age and refrigerant type
Systems running R22 are no longer supported by new refrigerant imports. Once one of those develops a leak, replacement is usually the honest answer and we will say so.
Where we work
Service vehicles run across Geelong, the Bellarine Peninsula and the Surf Coast daily, and out to the surrounding towns on a scheduled basis.
Businesses and rental portfolios with multiple sites are scheduled together to keep the cost per site down.
Areas we service
- Geelong West and Newtown
- Belmont, Grovedale and Highton
- Corio and Lara
- Ocean Grove, Barwon Heads and Torquay
- Leopold, Drysdale and Portarlington
Servicing and repair questions
If something has stopped working today, phone rather than email. Service calls are dispatched from the same office.
Related divisions: residential installation and commercial installation.
Do you service systems you did not install?
Yes. This division services all brands, whoever installed them. A good part of our service work is on systems put in by companies that have since closed, and we carry parts and diagnostic equipment for the common brands rather than only the ones we sell.
How often should a system be serviced?
Annually for most residential systems, before the season you rely on it. Evaporative should be done in spring before the first hot week. Reverse cycle is best done in autumn so any fault turns up before winter. Commercial systems and anything running long hours need more frequent attention, usually every six months.
My system is not cooling. Is it out of gas?
Sometimes, but less often than people assume. A refrigerant system is sealed, so if it is low on gas there is a leak, and topping it up without finding the leak is throwing money away. Blocked filters, a failed capacitor, a dirty outdoor coil, a faulty sensor or a stuck reversing valve all present the same way. We diagnose before we touch the refrigerant.
Can you service systems in a rental property?
Yes, and we work with plenty of rental providers and agents around Geelong. We can deal directly with the tenant for access, report back to the agent, and quote repairs against the agent’s approval threshold so the job is not held up waiting for a conversation.
What does a service actually include?
For a split or ducted reverse cycle: filters cleaned or replaced, indoor and outdoor coils checked and cleaned, drains cleared and tested, electrical connections checked, operating pressures and temperatures measured, and controls tested in both modes. You get a report of what was found, not just an invoice.
Do you offer after hours service calls?
For commercial sites, yes, and for residential emergencies where a household has no heating in the middle of winter or a vulnerable person is affected by the heat. Ring the office and tell us the situation. Standard residential faults are attended in business hours, which keeps the cost down for everyone.
Book a service
Tell us the system type and brand, roughly how old it is, and what it is doing. A photo of the indoor and outdoor units helps.
For multiple systems at one address, list them and we will schedule them in one visit at a lower cost per unit.
Agents and businesses: tell us your approval threshold and we will quote repairs against it rather than waiting on a call.
