Air Conditioning Regas
Typically speaking, a residential air conditioning system should never need re-gassing throughout its lifetime. This idea comes from auto air conditioning which does need re-gassing periodically.
Unlike a car, your air conditioning unit for your home makes use of copper pipes and specially made fittings that ensures the refrigerant (gas) is kept sealed in. The installer of your air conditioner should have also carried out a pressure test to make sure there are no gas leaks.
A car however, uses rubber pipes, various plastic components and endures the vibrations of the use of the car that sometimes weaken and allows the gas to leak.
If you’re air conditioning unit has suffered damage this may allow it to leak gas. It will need to be repaired prior to re-gassing.
